Notes from her presentation:
Place flower foam one inch about your container so that your arrangement spreads
out.
Do not reuse foam. It gets yucky (bacterial growth) and it has too many holes.
Cut off corners of foam. You then have more space to put flowers in the foam.
Keep flowers below eye level of seated guests.
Fasten Cowee picks on candles
with floral tape. Stick them into the foam.
Water the floral foam daily to keep flowers fresh. Use tepid water, not cold.
Use the packages to keep flowers longer. You can make it from:
- One quart of water
- One cup of 7 Up (with sugar, not diet)
- One or two drops of a household beach.
When making bows, cover the wire (usually 26 gauge) with floral tape, then
make the bow.
Start with greens, then add other items for your design.
Cut branches on a slant. They slip more easily into the foam.
Thanks, Rose! We had a great time and learned a lot!
